We believe that kids should have access to healthy meals that leave them full, content and ready for whatever challenges they may face outside their door.
Unfortunately, not many kids in high-risk communities get to experience healthy meals every day. Most, despite their young age, understand the challenges of making choices between household expenses such as school supplies, transportation costs, clothing or a healthy meal. Community kitchens are designed to address food insecurity, encourage social interaction and provide access to resources/services.
With the newly renovated kitchen in Cooreville Community Centre, we hope to promote a healthy space for community members to meet, network, gain resources, eat and have fun.
